Ilona Staller was born in Hungary.
Daughter of a bureaucrat of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, she started to study medicine in order to became a gynecologyst, but interrupted the studies because she was attracted to archeology. Later on, instead she joined a model agency, M.T.I., that was managing the 50 best hungarian models.
When she arrived in Italy, she created a very succesful radio show on Radio Luna, called "Voulez vous coucher avec moi". It was during the broadcast of this radio show that Ilona was called for the fist time "Cicciolina".
It was 1976, and right then Illona started to modify the concept of "common sense of decency" In 1979 she created "La Lista del Sole" (the Sun Party), the first green party in Italy, and partecipated in a "signature collecting" in order to ask to the government to promulgate various referendums. She did protested against nuclear energy, in favour of human rights and against world hunger, so political issues started to enter and contaminate her live shows. So she was charged many times, in a futile tentative to stop the "Cicciolina Cyclone".
She did many appearences in Rai (italian national television), appeared in many movies and made various public partecipations in italian political activity until when she joined Partito Radicale (Radical Party), contributing in signing-up more than 10.000 new members.
She was then inscribed on the Partito Radicale poll lists, and then elected with more than 20.000 preferences, in circoscription of Lazio. So, in 1987 she became an M.P. of italian Parliament, in order to fight against nuclear energy, censorship, to abrogate article 528 concerning the concept of "morality and public decency", in favour of free sexuality, sex in jail, sexual information in schools and to ask an intervention from the Health Ministry in favour of a correct information about AIDS. All this without losing sight of the idea of LOVE.
The love for the nature pushed Ilona, as a politician, to propose an ecological tax on cars, trying to limitate the smog dangers. Ilona, protecting animals and defending their natural environment, asked to stop exterminating animals in order to produce furs, and fought vivisection and experimentation on their bodies.
The continuous political committment of Ilona saw her protagonist of many protests: against drugs prohibitionism, and against death penalty. This committment doesn't impeded her to stick to her audience, that kept on requesting her, in Italy and around the world. Ilona plays with all her sweetness and naturality in her new shows "Living in Paradise" and "Diamond". Even in "Living in Paradise" Ilona is a P.M., actually P.M. of the world, because she addresses hypocrisy and the private echonomica interests of the politicians as the cause of many forms of social illnesses, from violence to heavy drugs abuse.
The encounters with her audience enrich Ilona of different experiences, and always brings new ones, from which she pulls ideas and indications for her political and artistical committments.
