Born in the Los Angeles area of California, Heather has many fun filled memories of her early childhood. “Most of my favorite memories are of building sand castles on the beach and of course Disneyland,” Heather tells us. “I remember being so mad when we moved to northern California.” They had moved to a very small town in the foothills near Yosemite National Park. At 8 years old Heather was given a new beginning she would not come to appreciate until much later. “Now I look back and I am so thankful to have been raised in a small town. It gives you a remarkable sense of reality and good values. I know that the important things in life don’t come with price tags, “ she says.
Always an honor roll student, Heather went through school without any delays. That is up until high school. She took the words in a very literal sense. She began to live a lot more freely and rarely attended classes. Heather smiles, “It was way too much fun ditching school everyday and partying all day, everyday. I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything. Being young with no responsibilities only comes once and I took full advantage, “ she says. Due to her nearly non existent attendance record Heather’s grades dropped dramatically. At fifteen she took her high school proficiency examination and received her high school diploma. She spent the next few years enjoying life. “We took spur of the moment trips all of the time, to everywhere; Chico, Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel, San Francisco, everywhere. We would go to lakes, mountains with incredible natural pools and waterfalls. We just partied. Everyday was always a new adventure,” she recollects.
At eighteen friends and a photographer convinced Heather to submit photos to playboy. “I never thought I would be chosen, I rarely wore much makeup, I was kind of a tomboy,” she says. Much to her surprise they responded quickly and started the Playmate proceedings.
In the blink of an eye a petite, red haired girl was sitting in the dining room at the playboy mansion. “I always felt like I didn’t fit in. I looked different than everyone else there and was very scared of the whole thing, “ she tells us. “It was all very overwhelming.” Heather made friends at the mansion, mostly the good natured staff. She tells us, “They all were just like my friends from home, normal down to earth people. They really helped me to stay grounded through the whole experience. Staying in the Playboy Mansion is one of the easiest places to catch yourself slipping from reality.”
After her issue hit newsstands Heather found it hard to stay in her small town. She soon relocated to Santa Monica, California. “For years all I wanted to do is get back to LA. I was still so mad that my parents ever made me leave,” Heather explains. “I understand now. With all of the crime, violence, depressing homeless, and anger in Los Angeles I think it is an extremely unfit place to raise children.”
Heather has been working for playboy doing promotional events since then. She can be found in many of the special editions as well as in issues of playboy magazine as a yellow bunny (world of playboy pages).
So what’s in store for Heather these days? “I have just been working really hard on my website and I hope to move to northern California sometime next spring. Somewhere between San Luis and Carmel, or maybe San Francisco. I want to stay coastal but be more near my family and the bay area. I just fit better up there,” she says.
